Job summary

Peoria Unified School District is seeking a Groundskeeper to perform a variety of grounds keeping and landscape maintenance functions for athletic fields and school grounds. The role requires basic knowledge of landscaping practices, operation of power and hand tools, and a demonstrated ability to follow directions accurately.

The position entails trimming vegetation, mowing fields, maintaining grounds and irrigation systems, and ensuring safe, debris-free exterior areas.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, AND one year of grounds keeping/landscaping/irrigation experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of grounds keeping and landscaping practices, maintenance of equipment, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Trims and shapes trees, shrubs, and bushes.
• Mows and trims grass areas and athletic fields.
• Maintains landscaping, grounds, rock and gravel areas.
• Cleans up debris, removes weeds, maintains parking lots.
• Maintains grounds equipment and irrigation tools/equipment.
• Tills playgrounds, fertilizes and aerates sports fields, maintains fall zone materials.
• Keeps sidewalks and sports courts free of debris.
• Other duties as assigned or required.
