Job summary

Palmyra-Macedon Central School District seeks an Athletic Coach to lead student-athletes in grades 7–12 with a focus on skill development, game strategy, and sportsmanship. You will work with the Director of Physical Education, Athletics and Community Service to manage practices, competitions, and program growth.

The role requires NY State teaching certification, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with families, staff, and the community. Prior coaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Possess the proper New York state certifications for the position.
• Maintain physical condition suitable for athletic coaching duties.
• Demonstrate an open, collaborative style that fosters teamwork.
• Exhibit proven people skills and effective communication.
• Be willing to be an active, engaged member of the learning community.
• Communicate clearly in both oral and written language.
• Work with staff, students, parents, and administrators.
• Occasionally travel as needed for assignments.

Responsibilities

• Coach athletic teams (7-12) and oversee program operations.
• Schedule facilities for practices and competition with the director.
• Assign duties to assistant/volunteer coaches as applicable.
• Instruct players on rules, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Monitor player eligibility and maintain required records.
• Coordinate end-of-season duties and communications with stakeholders.
• Promote the program and Pal-Mac Way in contests and events.
• Ensure safety and compliance with district and state policies.
