Hingham Public Schools' Athletics Department is seeking an Athletic Coach for the Girls Freshman Basketball program at Hingham High School in Massachusetts. The coach will lead practices, develop skill progression, teach game strategy, and foster sportsmanship while upholding district policies.

Responsibilities include designing practice plans, coaching grades 9-12, coordinating with the athletic director, ensuring safety protocols and compliance, managing equipment, and supporting

Qualifications

• Experience coaching high school sports and working with students.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• CPR and First Aid/Concussion training or willingness to become trained.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement effective practice sessions focused on skill development, course strategy, and sportsmanship.
• Teach the skills and strategies to student-athletes in grades 9-12.
• Be a role-model and teacher of the game, fostering a culture of respect, integrity, and teamwork.
• Support student athletes in achieving both athletic and academic success.
• Work collaboratively with entire coaching staff to ensure program consistency and continuity.
• Other duties may include; practice, game day coaching, conditioning of athletes, supervision of athletes, maintenance of practice facility and equipment.

Athletic Coach

Girls Freshman Basketball

Job Summary

The Athletic Coach is responsible for coaching the team, focusing on teaching proper technique, as well as offensive and defensive strategies. HPS coaches are responsible for fostering a positive and competitive team environment while helping student athletes grow in both their skills and personal character. Requires in-depth knowledge of the rules, strategies, and techniques of the specific sportyou coach. Coaching staff report directly to the Athletic Director and are expected to follow the policies and procedures of Hingham Public Schools

Qualifications

• Experience coaching high schoolspecificsport; experience working with students.
• Flexible problem solver with strong sense of initiate and personal responsibility
• Experience working with various stakeholders within a school community
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Trained/certified in or will become trained/certified in CPR, and First Aid/Concussion

Responsibilities

Terms of Employment

• Seasonal Position
• Stipend payments in agreement with the HEA Unit A Collective Bargaining Agreement
• Employment contingent upon successful completion of background checks pursuant to federal and/or state laws
