Job summary

Rochelle Township High School is seeking an Athletic/Activities Director to lead all interscholastic sports and student activities, ensuring compliance with IHSA rules and Title IX guidance. The role includes supervising coaches, coordinating game-day operations, and managing budgets and facilities.

The position requires strong leadership, strategic oversight, and a commitment to student-athlete academic success.

Qualifications

• Valid IL PEL with General Administrative (Type 75) or Principal Endorsement preferred.
• Master's degree in educational leadership, sports administration, physical education, or a related field.
• Successful experience in athletic administration, head coaching, and/or school-level leadership.
• Strong knowledge of IHSA rules and regulations, Title IX compliance, safety protocols, and student academic eligibility tracking.

Responsibilities

• Direct 9–12 interscholastic sports and IHSA compliance; contract officials and supervise game-day operations.
• Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate head coaches, assistant coaches, and event personnel; lead coaches' meetings.
• Direct contest facility prep, scheduling, equipment procurement, game-day logistics, and athletic transportation.
• Manage the athletic department budget, gate receipts, and equipment accounts; collaborate with boosters.
• Monitor student-athlete eligibility and conduct codes, promoting academic excellence alongside athletics.
• Build relationships with parents, booster clubs, community athletic organizations, and Rochelle feeder programs.

Position Overview : Rochelle Township High School is seeking a High School Athletic/Activities Director to help achieve its vision of "Preparing Students for Their Tomorrow" by providing leadership, administration, and oversight of all interscholastic athletic programs and student activities, fostering student-athlete development, and upholding Board goals and strategic initiatives.

• Athletic Program Administration & IHSA Compliance : Direct all 9-12 interscholastic sports; enforce IHSA rules, Board policies, and Title IX guidelines; contract officials and supervise game-day operations.
• Staff Supervision & Evaluation : Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate head coaches, assistant coaches, and event personnel; lead coaches' meetings and promote sportsmanship and leadership development.
• Facility & Operations Management : Direct contest facility preparation, athletic scheduling, equipment procurement, game-day logistics, and athletic transportation in coordination with operations staff.
• Budget & Resource Management : Manage the athletic department budget, revenue collection, gate receipts, and athletic equipment accounts; collaborate with booster organizations.
• Student-Athlete Academic Support & Standards : Monitor student-athlete eligibility, uphold student conduct codes, and promote academic excellence alongside athletic performance.
• Community Engagement : Build positive relationships with parents, booster clubs, community athletic organizations, and Rochelle feeder programs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated history of utilizing strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
