Job summary

International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking a Sr. Brand Partnerships Officer, Athletes to build and manage a portfolio of pro athlete relationships to raise critical resources and expand IJM’s brand impact.

The role blends fundraising, marketing, and high-profile partnerships within the global sports community. This position offers hybrid work with on-site days in Washington, DC area for local candidates, and remote options for non-local applicants.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• 7+ years working with professional athletes and families.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
• Proven track record activating athlete/influencer platforms.
• Well-connected in sports, influencer management, philanthropy, or partnerships.
• Experience planning and executing events, conferences, or large-scale engagement opportunities.
• Expertise in leveraging media and public relations to advance objectives.
• Strong marketing with documented campaign success.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication; public speaking experience.
• Fundraising experience preferred; professional athlete experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Mature orthodox Christian faith as defined by the Apostles’ Creed.

Responsibilities

• Represent IJM’s mission through public speaking and media interviews at global sport and culture levels.
• Lead the Team Freedom community, mobilizing a movement of freedom.
• Present fundraising opportunities to pro athlete groups through proposals and high-level meetings.
• Design and recruit trips to IJM field offices to engage pro athletes.
• Identify cultivate and solicit pro athlete donors and partners to market IJM campaigns across channels.
• Build and manage a portfolio of 100+ athlete champions and prospects; target $1M annual revenue.
• Lead event strategy and activation campaigns with athletes and partners; collaborate with brand partnerships associates.
• Coordinate communications to donors; produce impact reports and fundraising materials.
• Maintain data hygiene, logging donor interactions, forecasting, and results analysis.
