Textron Systems seeks a Senior ATE Project Technical Lead (Level IV) to guide the architecture, development, and deployment of Automated Test Equipment. You will lead cross-functional teams across electrical, mechanical, and software domains to ensure cost, schedule, and technical targets are met.

The role requires a decade of ATE/ATS leadership in defense/aerospace and deep knowledge of COTS instrumentation and TPS engineering workflows.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 10+ years of dedicated ATE/ATS development experience with defense/aerospace leadership.
• Deep knowledge of COTS instrumentation hardware, rack-and-stack design, and TPS workflows.
• Experience with CAM and EVMS/IMS project tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lead interdisciplinary teams across electrical, mechanical, software to deploy ATE solutions.
• Direct design, integration, deployment of test equipment using COTS and custom interfaces.
• Oversee legacy ATS architectures, TPS development, validation, and integration.
• Act as CAM, manage status reporting and IMS schedule; apply EVMS.
• Ensure system integrity through ATE requirements analysis and design reviews.
• Foster collaboration with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.

Position Overview:
Textron Weapon Systems is seeking a Senior ATE Project Technical Lead (Level IV) to drive the architecture, development, and deployment of mission-critical Automated Test Equipment (ATE). In this senior leadership role, you will guide interdisciplinary teams through the entire lifecycle of complex test systems, ensuring execution meets rigorous cost, schedule, and technical requirements.

This role combines high-level systems test engineering, hardware/software design oversight, and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tracking. It is ideal for a veteran defense engineering leader who excels at bridging legacy Automatic Test Systems (ATS) frameworks with modern automated hardware/software solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Lead, oversee, and coordinate all interdisciplinary technical work across electrical, mechanical, and software design teams to deploy robust ATE solutions
• Full Lifecycle Development: Direct the design, integration, and deployment of test equipment utilizing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) instrumentation, custom electrical/mechanical interfaces, and specialized software
• Legacy System Integration: Oversight of legacy Automatic Test Systems (ATS) architectures, including the development, validation, and integration of Test Program Sets (TPS)
• Programmatic Oversight: Serve as the Cost Account Manager (CAM), taking ownership of status reporting, tracking the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and utilizing EVMS to keep projects on time and on budget
• System Integrity & Compliance: Oversee comprehensive ATE Requirements Analysis, lead high-visibility Design Review presentations, and spearhead formal ATE Certification, Calibration, and Self-Test methodologies
• Team Cohesion: Foster strong intra- and inter-disciplinary collaboration, serving as the central technical point of contact for company personnel, leadership, customers, and external suppliers

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience & Security:

• Security Clearance: Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related Scientific field
• Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of dedicated ATE / ATS development experience, with a proven track record of technical team leadership in a defense or aerospace environment
• Technical Depth: Deep, intimate technical knowledge of COTS instrumentation hardware, rack-and-stack electrical/mechanical design, and TPS engineering workflows
• Project Management: Demonstrable experience in Cost Account Management (CAM) and project tracking within an EVMS / IMS framework

Key Professional Skills:

• High competency in ATE/ATS Requirements Analysis, formal system validation, and military/aerospace test certification practices
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex engineering challenges into clear executive and customer-facing presentations
