ATC Training Instructional Supervisor

Position located in Palmdale, CA. Full‑time role supporting the SAIC Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team at the Los Angeles ARTCC (ZLA). Responsible for delivering high‑quality classroom and simulation laboratory training to air traffic controllers and support staff for the FAA.

ATTN FERS RETIREES: Earnings received as an ATC Instructor, ATC Training Instructional Supervisor, or Contractor Site Supervisor on this program are exempt from the Supplemental Annuity earnings limits for FERS retirees aged 56–62.

Key responsibilities include:

• Oversee and direct activities of contractor personnel within a specific instructional area.
• Provide hands‑on training in classroom and simulation laboratory settings.
• Participate in curriculum design and development.
• Mentor students and Remote Pilot Operators (RPO).
• Interface effectively with FAA personnel to ensure training meets local facility and mission needs.

Required qualifications:

• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Public Trust clearance.
• Minimum of five (5) years recent Certified Professional Controller (CPC) experience controlling live traffic or instructing FAA personnel.
• Experience at Los Angeles ARTCC (ZLA) preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). CPC certification required.

Desired skills and experiences:

• Excellent teaching, classroom management, and student‑focused improvement.
• Strong technical skills with ATC automation, simulation systems, and procedures.
• Knowledge of radar and/or non‑radar simulation laboratory certifications within the U.S. National Airspace System.
• Prior experience as a CPC at Los Angeles ARTCC (ZLA) is a priority.

Target salary range: $80,001 – $120,000.
