Job summary

Children's Home is seeking a Part Time Youth Coach to work with at-risk youth in homes and communities, guiding them to build life skills and connections to school and family.

You will mentor youth, identify strengths and goals, and connect them to mental health services, employment, and pro-social activities, while applying SDOH insights to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One or more years' experience in child welfare, juvenile justice, or community engagement services is required.
• Driver's license with the ability to maintain insurance throughout employment is required.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the CFSI Team, directly engaging with youth.
• Focus on reducing the risk of out-of-home placements by working one-on-one with youth and families in their homes and communities to identify strengths, interests, and achievable goals.
• Provide mentorship and support to help youth remain in their communities by strengthening attachments to school, community, and family.
• Identify natural supports and foster supportive networks to build resilience and connections for youth.
• Mentor youth in independent life skills and connect them to mental health services, substance abuse treatment, employment/vocational opportunities, and pro-social activities.
• Leverage community knowledge and an understanding of Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) to address quality-of-life outcomes and risks for the youth.

Through mentorship, they help youth build independent life skills and strengthen attachments to school, family, and community while linking them to mental health services, substance abuse treatment, employment opportunities, and pro-social activities. Familiar with the community they serve, Youth Coaches understand how Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) impact quality-of-life outcomes and risks for the youth they support.
