Ancora Education in Winnsboro, SC, is seeking an AT - CDL Driver Trainer to lead the CDL training program at our location. You will deliver classroom instruction, conduct pre-trip inspections, and supervise driving sessions to prepare students for the CDL exam.
The role requires a valid CDL, a High School diploma or GED, and at least 3 years of on-the-road experience within the last 5 years. Strong communication and safety emphasis are essential for success.

Salary Range: $22.00 To $25.00 Hourly
This position will be responsible for all driver training functions for the CDL training program at their assigned location. The CDL Driver Trainer will have proven longevity in the field, excellent communication skills, and possess demonstrated physical, intellectual, and leadership ability to perform duties over the road, maneuvering range, and in classroom instruction. The CDL Driver Trainer works under the guidance and supervision of the Program Director, Lead Driver Trainer, or their designee.
Commitment to stay current with industry standards and requirements within the field of instruction.
Ability to facilitate learning on-course content in the field of instruction.
Interpersonal relationship skills are necessary for positive interactions with students, alumni, faculty, and employers.
Proficiency in technology to include but not limited to Microsoft office suite, Google suite, and cloud based applications.
Mobility & Balance: Ability to frequently climb in/out of the cab, bend, squat, kneel, twist and reach to perform pre/post-trip inspections and navigate tight spaces.
Strength: Ability to crank trailer landing gear (often 100+ lbs), handle training and safety equipment, and potentially assist with loading/unloading (if applicable).
Endurance: Ability to sustain physical activity and be alert during extending driving and instructional periods, including exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, rain, ice or snow.
Sensory Acuity and Overall Health: Must possess and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate and meet DOT physical qualifications required to hold a CDL, with or without reasonable accommodations, as required by Federal regulations.
Demonstrating Skills: Physically showing students how to couple/uncouple trailers, perform inspections, and maneuver the large vehicle.
Environmental Exposure: Working outdoors in various conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow while training.
