Job summary

NS2 Mission in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Software Developer to join our engineering team working on SDA I&W systems, using Java and Spring, with microservices in Docker/Kubernetes. You will collaborate with engineers on orbital dynamics and distributed data processing in a mission-focused environment.

Qualified candidates have a Java/Spring background, experience with astrodynamics, and familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes; TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Software Eng, Physics, Aerospace or related field.
• Strong Java development experience including Spring framework.
• Experience or academic background in astrodynamics (e.g., orbital mechanics, space object tracking, propagation).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software components in Java and Spring.
• Apply astrodynamics knowledge to develop SDA mission algorithms and software.
• Build, test, and deploy microservices in Docker/Kubernetes environment.
• Work with MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, and messaging with ActiveMQ/Kafka.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, data scientists, and mission experts.
