Job Description

The Department of Biostatistics and the Department of Epidemiology have launched a joint search under the Neuroscience Initiative and invite applications for up to three full‑time, twelve‑month tenured or tenure‑track open‑rank faculty positions. The successful candidates will be part of an academic community that prioritizes innovation, creativity, and collaboration.

UF has significant breadth and depth in neuroscience research, including neuro‑ and neuromuscular imaging, movement disorders, spinal cord injury, stroke, neurodegenerative diseases, and neurorehabilitation. Faculty will serve as neuroscience principal investigators and collaborators, conducting epidemiological, clinical, and biostatistical studies such as the genetics of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, risk factors for poor neurodevelopment, neuroprevention, effects of exposure (e.g., cannabis) on neurocognition, social determinants of health on late‑life cognition, rehabilitation for neurological disorders, modeling of neuroimaging data, and integration of genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and imaging data.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and lead extramurally funded research projects as principal investigators.
• Teach courses within the Departments of Biostatistics or Epidemiology and broader public health programs.
• Mentor students and serve on academic committees.
• Utilize college‑level research core for grant development and an instructional design team for course development.

Minimum Requirements

A doctoral degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Exceptional candidates at all levels will be considered. For senior hires, a record of academic accomplishments, scholarly recognition, external research support, and leadership responsibilities is essential. For assistant professor hires, evidence of potential to develop such a record should be demonstrated.
