Job summary

BPM is seeking an Assurance Supervisor/Manager to lead audits, review work, and advise client personnel to complete assurance engagements. The role emphasizes leadership, communication, and delivering clear audit deliverables.

You will manage day-to-day planning and execution of engagements, supervise staff, and develop audit strategies while promoting BPM’s values and flexible work options in the Santa Monica area.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years of public accounting experience in multiple industries.
• CPA certification or CPA in progress preferred.
• Experience auditing complex accounts (inventory, revenue, equity/stock options).
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong desire to learn continuously.
• Ability to analyze and prioritize information for recommendations.
• Ability to synthesize research into clear, actionable deliverables.
• Ability to manage audits from start to finish and coordinate with clients.

You have (requirements):

• BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in public accounting in a variety of industries including entertainment, real estate, technology, manufacturing, and/or consumer products/retail;
• CPA certification or CPA in progress preferred.
• Experience auditing complex accounts such as inventory, revenue, equity/stock options, etc.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong desire to continuously learn.
• Competently analyzes and prioritizes information to make appropriate recommendations.
• Ability to synthesize all forms of research into clear, thoughtful, actionable deliverables.
• Understands client needs, identifies root causes of problems, and implements pragmatic solutions.
• Ability to manage audit engagements from start to finish, working directly with clients to ensure successful completion and client satisfaction.

You will (job responsibilities):

• Responsible for day-to-day planning and execution of multiple client engagements throughout the year.
• Supervise associate level professionals and delegate engagement responsibilities.
• Responsible for communicating and resolving all issues that arise during the audit engagement with the support of the engagement manager.
• Develop and execute audit strategy from planning to reporting.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, thus driving client satisfaction.
• Research, understand and apply complex accounting concepts and auditing procedures.
• Draft financials and report audit findings (both verbal and written).
• Develop, motivate and mentor associates by providing training, regular feedback and career guidance while fostering a team environment.
• Champion sustainable workplace practices by supporting remote-first operations, promoting paperless workflows through digital collaboration tools, participating in recycling initiatives to minimize paper use, and consistently demonstrate alignment with BPM’s values.

$95,000-$125,000/year

The salary range provided is intended for candidates in the Santa Monica Area who meet the minimum requirements of the position. Candidates who do not reside in the Santa Monica Area, do not meet the minimum requirements, or exceed the requirements are encouraged to apply and a recruiter will provide you with a range specific to your location and qualifications.
