Job description

We are seeking an experienced Assurance Manager to lead audit, review and compilation engagements while providing exceptional client service and technical leadership. This role is responsible for managing multiple client engagements from planning through completion, ensuring compliance with professional standards, maintaining project profitability, and mentoring engagement teams. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong technical accounting and auditing expertise, excellent project management skills, and a passion for developing client relationships and delivering high‑quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Engagement & Project Management – Manage multiple audit, review and compilation engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and exceptional client service; lead engagement planning, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment, audit strategy, and reliance on internal controls; oversee engagement workflows, monitor project progress and proactively address scope, budget, scheduling and client‑related challenges; review workpapers, financial statements and engagement deliverables to ensure compliance with professional standards and internal quality requirements; maintain regular communication with clients throughout engagements, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
  • Technical Leadership – Apply advanced auditing and accounting knowledge to identify and resolve complex technical issues; interpret and apply GAAS, SSARS, U.S. GAAP, FRF for SMEs, tax basis and modified cash basis reporting; conduct risk assessments, evaluate internal controls and develop effective audit strategies; research changes in accounting standards, auditing guidance and regulatory requirements; for internal assurance engagements apply the Institute of Internal Auditors’ IPPF as applicable.
  • Leadership & Business Development – Lead, coach and mentor engagement team members while fostering collaboration and professional development; delegate work effectively and provide timely, constructive feedback; participate in proposal development, client presentations and business development initiatives; identify opportunities to expand services within existing client relationships and support new business pursuits; build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.
  • Operational Responsibilities – Manage engagement budgets, billing, scheduling and resource allocation; monitor deadlines and ensure engagements are completed efficiently while maintaining high‑quality standards; maintain CPE requirements and stay current with industry trends and professional standards; support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance engagement quality and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Six to eight years of progressive public accounting or assurance experience.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or other applicable professional certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles and financial reporting frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple client engagements and leading engagement teams.
  • Strong project management, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining applicable professional certifications and continuing education requirements.
Preferred Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience using audit and engagement management software such as TeamMate, Suralink, Pfx Engagement or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, internal control evaluation and quality control standards.
  • Experience researching and resolving complex accounting and auditing issues.

Physical Requirements
