BDO USA, LLP seeks an Assurance Intern in our Third Party Attestation practice to learn to prepare SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3, HITRUST and related standards, and to document and assess control environments under supervision.

You will assist in testing internal controls, prepare work papers, contribute to reports, build client relationships, and apply your accounting or information systems studies in a collaborative, growth‑oriented team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent, required.
• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, required.
• Focus in Accounting or Information Systems, preferred.
• Leadership experience, preferred.
• Prior Internship or experience working within a public accounting or internal auditing environment, preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team; travel as needed.

Job Summary:

Our Third Party Attestation (TPA) practice helps large global and other growth companies to address their external compliance requirements in the areas of technology, security, system processing and privacy. Under the direction of the engagement team, the Assurance Intern, Third Party Attestation will learn how to prepare third-party attestation reports, including System and Organization Controls (SOC) 1, SOC 2, SOC 3, SOC for Cybersecurity and WebTrust for CAs, as well as HITRUST, SSPA, ISO, MRC and CSA STAR. The Assurance Intern, Third Party Attestation will learn and apply most areas of the governing standard as necessary and documenting, validating, testing, and assessing various control systems, including internal controls.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

• High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent, required
• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, required

Experience:

Software:

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

California Range: $40.00/hr - $45.00/hr
Colorado Range: $34.00/hr - $38.00/hr
Illinois Range: $36.00/hr - $40.00/hr
Maryland Range: $34.00/hr - $38.00/hr
Massachusetts Range: $36.00/hr - $40.00/hr
Minnesota Range: $32.00/hr - $36.00/hr
New Jersey Range: $38.00/hr - $42.00/hr
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $36.00/hr - $40.00/hr
Ohio Range: $33.00/hr - $37.00/hr
Virginia Range: $34.00/hr - $38.00/hr
