BDO USA, PC is seeking an engaged intern for our Technology Risk Assurance practice in New York. You will apply your coursework and organizational skills while solving problems with support from experienced teammates.

This role offers hands-on exposure to IS auditing in a dynamic client environment. You will learn to document, test controls, and assist in audit report preparation, gaining practical experience in Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance and internal control evaluation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems, required
• Pursing a Masters in Information Systems or other relevant advanced degree, preferred

Responsibilities

• Documents and tests application and automated controls on a wide range of software application packages
• Assists in the preparation of audit reports and recommendations associated with IS audit work performed
• Participates in the review of internal controls based on Sarbanes‑Oxley Act requirements
• Develops and maintains relationships with client personnel and management
• Conducts client interviews to obtain relevant information for non-complex clients
• Performs walkthroughs of client controls
• Documents controls, tests performed and results
• Prepares workpapers in the required format
• Applies IS audit principles and guidelines to non‑complex client environment
• Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems, required


• Pursing a Masters in Information Systems or other relevant advanced degree, preferred

Experience:

• Past leadership experience, preferred


• Prior internship or work study experience of information systems and operational auditing experience, preferred

Software:

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, preferred


• Exposure to various industry ERP applications, highly preferred

• Possess good written and verbal communication skills


• Able to follow instructions as directed by members of Assurance Team


• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
