Job summary

BPM LLP in California is seeking an Assurance Intern to join a team of audit professionals. You will gain exposure to multiple industries, supported by a coach and buddy as you develop your skills in accounting and assurance.

The role starts in January; GPA 3.0 requirement; CPA licensure pursuit encouraged; the internship offers hands-on training, regional offices including Santa Rosa, with hourly pay ranging from $30 to $35.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics (BS/BA/MSA/MST/Certificate Program).
• Demonstrated interest in pursuing or obtaining CPA educational licensure requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to start in January and work in one of our California offices (San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Rosa, Long Beach, and Sacramento).

Responsibilities

• Receive comprehensive Assurance training from Learning & Development team and Assurance leaders.
• Learn and perform audit procedures to assess the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
• Assist in evaluating and testing the effectiveness of internal control systems for clients.
• Engage in regional intern events and collaborate with fellow interns on a project.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• You will receive comprehensive Assurance training from our Learning & Development team and key Assurance leaders who will teach you how to analyze financial statements and related disclosures to identify any material misstatements or discrepancies
• You will learn and perform audit procedures to assess the accuracy and completeness of financial statements. This involves examining financial records, transactions, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with accounting principles and relevant regulations
• You will assist in evaluating and testing the effectiveness of internal control systems implemented by clients, working hand in hand with team members to deliver a quality product within the client’s time-frame
• You will engage in regional intern events, executive speaker sessions with firm partners, and collaborate with fellow interns on a project to showcase acquired knowledge and skills
