Job summary

BPM is seeking an Assurance Associate II to assist with audits, consult with leaders and client personnel, and help complete assurance engagements. You will join a collaborative team that values people, learning, and community impact, with flexible work arrangements and opportunities for CPA progression.

The role emphasizes strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving within diverse client portfolios, while supporting BPM’s remote-first and paperless initiatives.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 2+ years in public accounting with diverse client exposure.
  • Licensed CPA or in process of obtaining CPA.
  • Experience auditing complex accounts (inventory, revenue, equity/stock options).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong learning mindset and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to translate research into clear recommendations.
  • Ability to understand client needs and implement pragmatic solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple client engagements throughout the year.
  • Communicate issues to the engagement manager during audits.
  • Contribute to development and execution of audit strategy from planning to reporting.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to drive satisfaction.
  • Research, understand and apply complex accounting concepts and auditing procedures.
  • Draft financials and report audit findings (oral and written).
  • Promote sustainable practices and remote-first operations.

Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 2+ years' experience in public accounting, working with clients in a variety of industries.
  • Licensed CPA, or in the process of obtaining the CPA.
  • Experience auditing complex accounts like inventory, revenue, equity/stock options, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong desire to continuously learn.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize information to make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ability to synthesize all forms of research into clear, thoughtful, actionable deliverables.
  • Ability to understand client needs, identifies root causes of problems, and implements pragmatic solutions.
Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible for working with multiple client engagements throughout the year.
  • Be responsible for communicating issues that arise during the audit engagement with the support of the engagement manager.
  • Contribute to development and execution of audit strategy from planning to reporting.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, thus driving client satisfaction.
  • Research, understand and apply complex accounting concepts and auditing procedures.
  • Draft financials and report audit findings (both verbal and written).
  • Champion sustainable workplace practices by supporting remote‑first operations, promoting paperless workflows through digital collaboration tools, participating in recycling initiatives to minimize paper use, and consistently demonstrate alignment with BPM’s values.

$70,304-$90,000/year

The salary range provided is intended for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area who meet the minimum requirements of the position. Candidates who do not reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, do not meet the minimum requirements, or exceed the requirements are encouraged to apply and a recruiter will provide you with a range specific to your location and qualifications.
