Job summary

Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Humanities and Arts Department invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor in Histories of the Environment, Science, and Technology (non-tenure track) for the 2027-2028 academic year, beginning in August 2027.

We seek scholars who deploy transregional, international, comparative, and/or global perspectives and methods, whose work may focus predominantly on any region of the world (except the United States).

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in History preferred; terminal degree in a related field considered.
• Evidence of university-level teaching experience is required.
• Ability to work across disciplines with faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

• Teach six courses and two capstone inquiry seminars in History and International and Global Studies.
