The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurological Surgery offers a full‑time Assistant Scientist position in Miami, FL. The Assistant Scientist supports research objectives, publishes findings, and enhances the institution’s reputation.
Core Responsibilities
- Contribute to basic and applied research, author scientific publications, technical reports, and patents.
- Collaborate with senior staff to publish findings in refereed journals.
- Design, conduct experiments, and analyze results.
- Develop and use end products in collaboration with other researchers.
- Write extramural proposals with approval from senior staff.
- Provide access to experimental data for managing staff.
- Request or acquire equipment and supplies for assigned projects.
- Collect information from internet, surveys, legal documents, and other sources.
- Apply for grants and prepare submission materials to granting agencies and foundations.
- Adhere to university and unit‑level policies and safeguard assets.
Clinical Research Duties (Department Specific)
- Work closely with research faculty on endovascular research.
- Coordinate clinical trials for interventional and registry studies, including FDA‑regulated studies.
- Create and maintain endovascular databases.
- Publish research findings and promote the university’s reputation.
- Write extramural proposals.
- Provide experimental data access, acquire equipment, and collect information.
- Apply for grants with senior staff approval.
- Adhere to policies and protect assets.
Requirements
- Doctorate (MD, PhD, or equivalent).
- Prior experience in clinical research and scientific writing (minimum 1 year).
- GCP and CITI training preferred.
