Job summary

El Rio Grande Latin Market in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Produce Clerk Supervisor to oversee the produce department and supervise all produce clerks. You will ensure proper merchandising, pricing, inventory control, and adherence to company standards while assisting customers with requests.

• Offers suggestions to customers to provide alternatives;assistscustomers with special requests andanswerquestions about produce products and services.
• Properly merchandise and price product in attractive displays according to company standards.
• Responsible to the Produce Manager for the enforcement of all company policies and proceduresrelativetoproducestockers and all areas of the department.
• Oversee and managereceipt, weight, and breakdown of produce.
• Ensures proper inventory control and product rotation to maximize product freshness and availability, while minimizing waste. Informs department manager ofproductthatisneeded; order products as needed.
• Assistsintraining ofdepartment personnel and notifies the department manager of any personnel issues. Mayassistememployees in the performance of routine departmental functions as needed.
• Cleans/maintainswork area; uses proper procedures for cleaning of equipment; cleans and sanitizes cutting surfaces often and atappropriate times.
• Support and model safety in the department; communicate expectationswith regard toworking safely; continuouslyobserveemployees to ensure safety is an important part of every employee’s work; recognize and reward employees who consistently work safely.
