Job summary

News Corp is seeking an Associate Producer in New York to work with the Hub team on quick-turn videos and cutdowns for on-platform, YouTube, and social channels. You will shepherd breaking stories from pitch to final cut under tight deadlines, emphasizing business and economy coverage with strong editorial judgment.

You will report to the Senior Supervising Producer, Video, and collaborate with reporters, editors, and Storyful to verify UGC and ensure adherence to WSJ standards.

Qualifications

• At least 1-3 years of experience producing end-to-end video content.
• A good understanding of and an interest in current affairs and the Wall Street Journal's core topics.
• Ability to write, edit, package and publish short-form videos quickly as the news demands.
• High proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; working knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Photoshop is a plus.
• Experience clearing third-party footage and navigating UGC verification under deadline pressure.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience working in high-pressure situations under deadline constraints.
• Flexibility to work after standard work hours, depending on the news cycle.

Job Description: The Associate Producer will closely work with news editors and the breaking news team at “the Hub” to create quick-turn videos and cutdowns of our feature content for on-platform, YouTube and social platforms. You are an agile visual journalist who can shepherd a breaking news story from pitch to final cut under tight deadlines. You should have sharp news judgment, a firm grasp of business and economic news and the technical editing skill to craft compelling short-form video independently.

This role will report to the Senior Supervising Producer, Video.

You will…

• Closely monitor daily news to pitch, research, script and edit relevant, newsmaking videos


• Edit videos using a mix of footage and motion graphics templates


• Produce optimized cutdowns and adaptations of WSJ feature videos for onsite and some social channels

• Experience clearing third-party footage and navigating UGC verification under deadline pressure


• Strong communication skills

• Flexibility to work after standard work hours, depending on the news cycle
