Astound is seeking an Associate Video Engineer in Lanham, MD to support Video Operations and Video Engineering. You will test embedded streaming devices (Smart TV, TiVo, Android-based devices) and develop test cases for OTT applications, triaging issues from customers and vendors, and assisting with multiple projects.

Responsibilities include regression testing, keeping up with new video hardware/software, and using internal tools to investigate issues.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting video.
• Familiar with IOS/Android OS and Windows/MS Office.
• Associates Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent.

Job description

The Associate Video Engineer will be responsible for working alongside Video Operations and Video Engineering maintaining and growing the video offering through equipment and software testing, triaging trouble tickets and identifying problems on our large base of legacy set top boxes, TiVo and Android based IPTV devices. Hands-on experience in testing of Over-the-Top (OTT)/Media domain applications on Embedded products in Consumer electronics space – Smart TV, Mobile Phones / Tablets or media streaming devices such as Apple TV, Android Based Consumer Streamers, Fire TV. Understanding the requirements and developing test cases for all product use cases in context of OTT applications on embedded streaming devices. Triage, troubleshoot, and update trouble cases from both Customers and Vendors. Works with and assists customers directly as needed to gain additional details to their issues. Must use internal tools to investigate issues. Regression testing on all platforms. Testing all customer facing hardware and software and ticketing issues. Keeping apprised of new video related hardware and software as it becomes available to be deployed. Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table:

• 2+ years’ experience troubleshooting video.
• Proven ability to analyze data.
• Familiar with IOS/Android OS.
• Windows and MS Office / Excel / PowerPoint.
• Detail Oriented and ability assist with multiple projects at once.
• Experience with TiVo DVRs and traditional cable/video offerings is a plus.

Education:

Associates Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent.

Base Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000 (annually), plus opportunities for benefits. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
