Job summary

Phillips Edison & Company seeks a Senior Counsel to act as the lead legal advisor on acquisition, disposition, redevelopment, development and leasing activities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will hold a JD from an accredited law school, be licensed in at least one U.S.

jurisdiction (Ohio preferred), and bring 5+ years of CRE experience, strong negotiation, drafting and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Ohio preferred).
• 5+ years of commercial real estate transaction experience (CRE).

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance across the acquisition, disposition, redevelopment, development and leasing lifecycle.
• Draft, review and negotiate agreements for CRE transactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to close transactions.
• Manage multiple complex CRE transactions concurrently.

The Senior Counsel role will serve as a key legal advisor supporting the company’s acquisition, disposition, redevelopment, development and/or leasing activities. This role is responsible for providing legal guidance throughout the transaction lifecycle for the assigned area(s). The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in commercial real estate law, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to manage complex transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications required include:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Ohio preferred).
• 5+ years of legal experience in commercial real estate transactions, preferably with a mix of law firm and in-house experience.
• Strong knowledge of real estate law.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
• Strong business acumen and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
