Reporting to the Vice President of Administration and Finance, theAssociate Vice President of Beach Building Services providesstrategic vision, executive leadership, and operational oversightfor the planning, construction, maintenance, safety, and servicedelivery of the campus facilities and environment. The role leads acomplex organization responsible for a significant operatingbudget, major capital programs, and a large workforce. The positionadvises senior leadership, represents the University with the CSUand state agencies, ensures compliance with applicablerequirements, and advances safe, sustainable, fiscally responsible,and service-oriented facilities operations.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive leadership experience incomplex, fiscally challenging, and rapidly evolving environments,with a proven ability to lead, manage, and develop staff whilefostering collaboration and teamwork. They will demonstrate strongcommunication, strategic thinking, organizational, financial, andbudget management skills, along with the ability to effectivelyengage with senior leadership and a diverse range of internal andexternal stakeholders. The successful candidate will haveexperience in capital project management, including budgeting,planning, construction management, and oversight of architectural,mechanical, electrical, and related disciplines. They will becommitted to promoting and adhering to university policies,procedures, and standards related to safety, civility, informationsecurity, and non-discrimination, while advancing institutionalpriorities and supporting the equitable implementation of campuspolicies. Experience working within collective bargaining andshared governance environments is highly desirable, as is theability to balance the needs of faculty, staff, and students whilemaintaining an architecturally and aesthetically consistent campusenvironment.
