We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Vice President (AVP) of New Business Development to join our team in the field of fundraising. This individual will identify and secure new business opportunities across North Texas to support our organization’s mission and goals. As the AVP, you will play a crucial role in growing our supporter base and ensuring the success of our mission impact.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising and a deep understanding of the non‑profit sector. They will possess strong networking skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with potential donors and funding organizations. Additionally, the AVP will develop and implement creative fundraising strategies to engage supporters, including mission‑impact solutions aligned with our issue‑based fundraising strategies.

We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive of up to 25% of your base pay, based on achieving certain revenue targets. This office‑based position offers a hybrid schedule in a fast‑paced environment, with the main responsibility of driving revenue to support our mission. The Association provides many resources to help maintain work‑life harmonization, including access to Heart U, our award‑winning corporate university, and additional training and support.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive new business development plan with a vision to raise $5M across the North Texas landscape.
  • Grow new company engagement by 25% to 50%.
  • Identify and cultivate prospective corporate supporters.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a portfolio of corporations with a goal of securing a minimum of seven‑figure annual contributions and achieving 75% portfolio penetration within two years.
  • Drive the organization’s fundraising efforts and achieve financial targets.
  • Oversee and recruit strategic committees designed to assist in growth and strategic opportunities across the territory.
  • Work alongside our issue‑based fundraising team to create compelling proposals and presentations to inspire support.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure requests for support are vetted and built to full capacity.
  • Monitor and evaluate division income performance through analysis of weekly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
  • Work alongside market boards in Tarrant and Dallas counties to ensure growth in pipelines and develop volunteer‑integrated plans.
  • Learn and be well‑versed in the mission and work in tandem with the VP of Community Health for potential funding needs.
  • Develop strong pipelines of six‑ and seven‑figure opportunities.
  • Develop corporate stewardship plans across core campaigns and above.
  • Accountable for the management and development of staff members toward market goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Five years of experience in fundraising or new business development, preferably in the non‑profit sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing six‑ and seven‑figure requests for support.
  • Strong knowledge of fundraising principles and strategies.
  • Excellent networking and relationship‑building skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Results‑driven and goal‑oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Ability to travel locally approximately 70%; requires reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.
