Western Trails Veterinary Hospital in Edgewood, NM, is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our busy, 4-doctor practice serving small and large animals, plus exotics. We offer mentorship, a collaborative team, and a growing hospital with modern diagnostics.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited institution or equivalent.
• Appropriate state licensure to practice.
• Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD registration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients.
• Physical ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds (and more with assistance).

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat companion animals to diagnose disease or injury.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and interpret results.
• Advise clients on preventative care and treatment options.
• Perform surgery and prescribe medications as needed.
• Provide counseling on end-of-life care for pets.
• Maintain accurate medical records for patients.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant policies and laws.
