Qualifications

  • Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university.
  • Current State Veterinary License required.
  • Must obtain and maintain DEA registration.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary practice is necessary.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills are expected.
  • Excellent surgical and dental skills required.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment is essential.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills needed.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care.
  • Confidence and reassurance with stressed pets is important.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
  • Communicate and educate clients regarding care.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures and surgeries as needed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
  • Handle pharmacy duties including medication prescriptions.
  • Promote teamwork and efficiency within the staff.
  • Collaborate with Hospital Manager on priorities.
  • Evaluate protocols for hospital operations from intake to discharge.
  • Monitor cases and attend daily rounds for quality assurance.
  • Participate in practice management updates and training.
