Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary program.
• Active veterinary license, or ability to obtain licensure in California.
• 1–4 years of small animal clinical experience preferred.
• Strong interest in general practice, preventive care, and general surgery.
• Comfortable managing routine GP cases independently while knowing when to ask for support.
• Interest in growing surgical skills through mentorship and hands‑on experience.
• Strong communication skills with clients, doctors, technicians, and hospital leadership.
• Compassionate, team‑oriented approach to patient care.
• Commitment to practicing high‑quality medicine and continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide general practice care: wellness exams, vaccines, preventive medicine, sick visits.
• Perform physical exams and diagnostic plans; communicate findings clearly.
• Diagnose and treat common small animal conditions including dermatology and GI.
• Develop proficiency in soft tissue surgery: spays/neuters, mass removals.
• Interpret diagnostics and manage in-house tests.
• Collaborate with technicians to ensure efficient patient care.
• Educate owners on treatment plans, prevention, and follow-up.
• Maintain complete medical records and participate in case discussions.
• Refer complex cases to specialists when appropriate.
