Job summary

All Paws Veterinary Clinic in Algonquin, Illinois, is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join a compassionate and dedicated team serving dogs and cats in the surrounding communities. We value high-quality medicine, client relationships, and a supportive hospital culture.

You will practice comprehensive medical and surgical care, build strong client relationships, and work with a collaborative team led by a Medical Director who supports professional growth and excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited institution.
• Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples and interpret results.
• Advise pet owners on preventive care and treatment options.
• Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
• Provide counsel around pet end-of-life care.
• Maintain patients’ medical records.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
