Join PetVet Care Centers as an Associate Veterinarian (DVM or VMD) supporting Seymour Veterinary Hospital in Seymour, Connecticut. You will work alongside veterinarians, technicians, and staff, in partnership with the Care Center/Hospital Manager and regional leadership, within a nationally backed network.

The role emphasizes strong surgical experience, client communication, and management of appointments and surgery.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD from an accredited college or university.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• 1+ year of veterinary practice experience.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Strong surgical experience and excellent dental skills; manage appointments and perform surgery.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Communicate with clients and educate on care.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures and surgery; maintain medical records.
• Handle pharmacy duties and follow controlled substance protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on priorities and expectations.
• Monitor hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
• Attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards.
• Participate in training and practice management updates.
