Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited school.
• Appropriate state licensure.
• Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat companion animals to diagnose disease or injuries.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and collect samples; interpret results.
• Advise owners on preventive care and treatment.
• Perform surgery and prescribe medications.
• Provide end-of-life care counseling when needed.
• Maintain medical records for patients.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and policies.
