Qualifications

• DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• 2+ years of experience in a private or corporate practice.
• Active California veterinary license or ability to obtain
• Active DEA registration or ability to obtain one.
• Strong diagnostic, surgical, and medical case management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients and team members.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with colleagues.
• Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
• Diagnose and treat a wide variety of medical conditions using evidence-based veterinary medicine.
• Perform routine and advanced surgical procedures within your level of expertise.
• Provide urgent and emergency care, including patient stabilization and referral when appropriate.
• Prescribe medications and interpret laboratory and diagnostic imaging results.
• Communicate medical recommendations, treatment options, and follow-up care clearly and compassionately with clients.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical records using SOAP documentation.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director on medical protocols and patient care decisions.
• Mentor and support veterinary technicians and assistants while fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Promote exceptional client service and build long-term relationships through education, empathy, and follow-up care.
• Assist in maintaining efficient hospital workflow while upholding the highest standards of patient care, safety, and professionalism.

Associate Veterinarian Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
• 2+ years of experience in a private or corporate practice
• Active California veterinary license in good standing or ability to obtain licensure before employment
• Active DEA registration or ability to obtain one
• Strong diagnostic, surgical, and medical case management skills
