The Associate Veterinarian will perform essential veterinary procedures, develop treatment plans, maintain vaccination programs, and ensure compliance with welfare guidelines while advancing pet care research and clinical

Qualifications

  • DVM degree required and Missouri license or ability to obtain license.
  • 1+ years of professional clinical veterinary experience with feline and/or canine patients.
  • 6+ months of experience in veterinary surgeries and/or dentistry is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine check-ups, surgeries, dental care and emergency treatments.
  • Develop treatment plans for a variety of health issues, from common ailments to complex medical conditions.
  • Maintain vaccination and other prophylactic programs for the pets.
  • Closely collaborate with veterinarians and the team to provide individual care for our pets.
  • Ensure compliance with the Animal Welfare Act and Nestlé R&D PetCare Manual.
  • Provide health reports (certificates) for all incoming and outgoing pets.
  • Provide training and guidance to veterinary staff and pet care personnel to promote best practices in animal care and ensure a high standard of clinic operations

Position Summary

Our Nestlé Development Center (NDC) in St. Joseph, MO is home to confident, well socialized dogs and cats who help us learn, research, and better understand the well‑being of pets and promote the human animal bond. You'll work alongside a team passionate about pet care that ensures our pets have the best quality of care while participating in cutting edge pet food research. Our center is located near the metropolitan area of Kansas City, within 30 minutes of the Kansas City International airport. St. Joseph is a tight‑knit, rural community packed with character, still within commuting distance to the city thus, providing many residential opportunities.

As an Associate Veterinarian, you will support daily veterinary clinic operations and comprehensive health programs for our beloved pets. In this role, you will plan, organize, and perform essential veterinary procedures that promote the health and wellbeing of our pets. Success in this position requires adaptability, initiative, and sound clinical judgment to effectively navigate a dynamic research and pet care environment where priorities, processes, and needs may evolve.

  • Perform all necessary veterinary procedures to ensure the health and wellbeing of the pets including routine check‑ups, surgeries, dental care, and emergency treatments
  • Develop treatment plans to address a variety of health issues, from common ailments to complex medical conditions

Requirements

Salary: $107,912.70 to$145,000.00 per year
