Atlas is excited to be working with an AAHA-accredited, canine-only hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, that is looking to bring a part-time associate veterinarian onto its team. The practice opened with a clear purpose: to give dogs and their owners a setting designed entirely around canine care, from the facility layout to the way appointments and procedures are planned.
Focusing on a single species shapes the medicine here. Every case, consultation and surgical day is canine, which allows the team to build depth in the conditions, procedures and client conversations that matter most to dog owners. The caseload covers preventive care, medical workups and surgery, and the hospital is set up to handle more than routine procedures. Cruciate repairs and TPLOs are performed in-house, so the surgical side of the role can grow as far as your experience and interest take it.
The facility is modern and well equipped, with ultrasound, Cuattro DR digital radiography, dedicated dental equipment and full dental radiographs. Cases that need specialist input do not always have to leave the building. The hospital works with a local internist and neurologist who are available for consults and on-site care, giving associates a direct route to specialist opinion and a chance to learn from complex cases as they are worked up.
The support team is experienced and settled, and doctors work alongside skilled technicians and fellow veterinarians who share the clinical load. The practice places real weight on quality of life for its staff, and the schedule reflects that, with no weekend shifts at all. New graduates are welcome and will have access to mentorship as they build confidence in medicine and surgery, while experienced veterinarians can step straight into a broader surgical caseload.
