Role Description

Onalaska Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our growing team. This position is an excellent opportunity for both new graduates and experienced veterinarians who are looking for a supportive, collaborative environment where they can continue developing their clinical skills and build a rewarding veterinary career.

The Associate Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical, surgical, dental, and preventive care for companion animals. Responsibilities include performing wellness and sick-patient examinations, diagnosing medical conditions, developing individualized treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, prescribing medications, performing surgical and dental procedures, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Our veterinarians work closely with veterinary technicians and support team members to provide efficient, high-quality patient care. Strong client communication is also an important part of the role, including discussing diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, preventive care, and recommendations in a clear and compassionate manner.

For new graduates, we recognize that the transition from veterinary school into clinical practice is an important stage of professional development. We are committed to providing mentorship, collaboration, and opportunities to build confidence while developing medical, surgical, dental, and client communication skills.

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Onalaska, Wisconsin. Scheduling may include some evenings or weekends based on practice needs.

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school, or anticipated completion of the degree prior to the start date
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Wisconsin
  • New graduates are strongly encouraged to apply

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service team members
