Our client is a privately owned small animal practice seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join their team. Proudly independent, the practice provides care exclusively to small animal patients across two hospitals in Gladstone and North Kansas City.

Role Description and Responsibilities

The Associate Veterinarian will provide the full scope of general practice care, with the flexibility to accommodate a non-surgical schedule if desired. The working schedule is open to discussion but is expected to be around 36 hours across four days per week, plus one Saturday per month. Time will be split between the two hospital locations in Gladstone and North Kansas City. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with mentorship provided to new graduates before they progress onto their own schedule.

Both hospitals are modern, purpose-built facilities, with one opening in 2021 and the other moving into a brand-new 10,000-square-foot hospital in 2025. Equipment includes digital X-ray, digital dental X-ray, portable core ultrasound, an underwater treadmill, CT, cloud-based PIMS and a full in-house IDEXX laboratory suite. The hospitals provide the full scope of general practice services, including wellness and preventative care, internal medicine, soft-tissue surgery and dentistry. Appointments are scheduled for 15 minutes for vaccine and wellness visits and 30 minutes for sick and euthanasia appointments. Hospital opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 8am–6pm, Friday from 8am–5pm and Saturday from 8am–12pm.

Team

The team consists of three DVMs and operates with a 2:1 technician-to-doctor ratio. The support team includes three RVTs and four veterinary assistants.
