Job summary

The VET Recruiter is seeking an Associate Veterinarian for a Ventura County practice. The role offers high quality medicine, a fast-paced yet professionally rewarding environment, and a generous benefits package.

The successful candidate will treat canine and feline patients, perform advanced surgical procedures, and work with in-house diagnostics such as ultrasound. Internship completed candidates are welcome; mentorship is available while encouraging independent thinking.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary practice experience.
• Completion of an internship acceptable.
• Detail-oriented with willingness to learn and be mentored but think independently.

Job description

Our client’s veterinary practice in Ventura County offers the ability to learn and practice high quality medicine and make a difference in the lives of patients and owners. It can be fast paced but professionally rewarding and an enjoyable place to work. The surrounding community where the practices are located offers a plethora of activities in which to engage while not at work. The practice offers a very generous benefits package and more than fair compensation.

The Associate Veterinarian will treat canine and feline patients in a practice that offers more sophisticated medical and surgical care than most general practices. The practice positions itself between a regular veterinary practice and a specialty referral practice and routinely performs advanced surgical procedures, chemotherapy, diagnostic procedures (including endoscopy and ultrasound) and other therapies. The practice has excellent relationships with referral practices but does as much as possible in house.

The practice is well established with a large and loyal clientele.

Qualifications include 2+ years of veterinary practice experience. We would consider someone who has completed an internship. The experienced candidate must be proficient in working up medical and surgical cases, have basic ultrasound skills, be competent in performing routine and more challenging surgical cases, be detailed oriented, willing to continue to expand their medical knowledge, be willing to be mentored and directed but think independently and bring to table what they learned in school.
