Job summary

Ballast Equity Partners in New York City is seeking an Associate with 2-4 years of private equity or venture capital experience to support due diligence, build investment models, and contribute to sourcing and execution of investments.

You will maintain CRM data, present opportunities at the weekly investment committee, and assist with LOIs, PSAs, LP reports, and marketing materials; you will join senior professionals at meetings and events to advance deal flow.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of private equity or venture capital experience (GP, allocator, fund of funds, consultant, etc.)
• High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word, including financial and accounting models
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field

Responsibilities

• Support due diligence of potential investments, pulling data from data rooms, fund reports, CIMs, PPMs and LPAs; summarize diligence calls and conduct market/product research to build investment models and memos
• Maintain the firm's CRM and internal databases related to deal opportunities
• Present opportunities at the weekly investment committee meeting
• Assist in execution of investments, including preparing/reviewing LOIs, PSAs and closing documents
• Assist with creation/updating of LP reports, LP requests and marketing materials
• Attend meetings and events alongside senior investment professionals
• Manage collection of financial data and valuation inputs

Role Overview

Ballast Equity Partners ("Ballast"), a venture and growth investment firm founded in 2022, is hiring an Associate for its New York City office. Ballast runs two strategies: a commingled fund focused on secondary investments via LP fund interests and direct company interests, and a separately managed account (SMA) strategy for primary venture fund LP commitments, co-investments and secondaries for large institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support due diligence of potential investments, pulling data from data rooms, fund reports, CIMs, PPMs and LPAs; summarize diligence calls and conduct market/product research to build investment models and memos

Compensation

Salary range: $110K - $135K. Location: New York, NY.
