Job summary

Clearview Outpatient, part of Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare Network, is seeking an Associate Therapist II to provide individual, family, and group therapy within an Intensive Outpatient/Partial Hospitalization setting in Ontario, CA. This role collaborates with clinical teams to coordinate care and deliver evidence-based treatment.

The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in a related field, a provisional CA license, and at least two years of mental health experience.

Qualifications

  • Position requires a master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling or psychology.
  • Holds a provisional clinical license, in good standing, within the state of California.
  • Requires minimum of 2 years’ of experience working with clients with a primary mental health diagnosis.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates group, family and individual therapy sessions in accordance with the clinical program schedule.
  • Completes psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, contact logs, discharge plans and other reports in compliance with state, accrediting bodies, quality guidelines and payor source guidelines.
  • Completes all necessary documentation within prescribed format and timelines.
  • Ensures documentation reflects ongoing assessments of client’s clinical presentation and behaviors.
  • Facilitates specialized groups as assigned based on education, training, and experience; supervises and/or co-leads groups with clinical interns, when appropriate.
  • Selects appropriate interventions to meet the clinical needs of individual clients.
  • Maintains therapeutic relationships with clients using praise and other reinforcers to encourage appropriate behaviors and attitudes.
  • Sets limits and holds boundaries in a kind and firm manner.
  • Conducts effective verbal crisis intervention and de-escalation involving other team members, as needed.
  • Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate client care from admission through discharge.
  • Attends clinical, consultation, and operations meetings; serves as a clinical advocate for assigned cases.
  • Communicates client progress with the referral sources, families, parents and/or guardians, as appropriate.
  • Addresses clients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in a welcoming and respectful manner.
  • Responds to clients and families with empathy and positive professional skills.

Compensation Range:

$75,000.00-$90,000.00 annually (depending on licensure, level, and location)

Position Summary

The Associate Therapist II provides individual, family and group therapy sessions for clients in an Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization mental health facility. Therapists assess the therapeutic needs of clients, develop appropriate treatment plans, and facilitate group, family and individual therapy sessions. Position collaborates with clients, team members, external clinical partners and family members, as appropriate, to coordinate care throughout the treatment process.

Relationships and Contacts

Within the organization: Maintains frequent and close working relationships with clinical, admissions, and leadership team members throughout the organization.

Outside the organization: Initiates and maintains strong professional relationships with clients and families, clinical providers, referral partners and vendors, as needed.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Can be relied upon to be at work as scheduled, proactively notifying supervisor of planned and unplanned time off needs.
  • Reads, understands, and adheres to all company policy statements on ethics, conduct, and conflict of interests; adheres to facility policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains positive attitude and acts as a team player with others on the team.
  • Attends and completes all trainings within assigned time frames.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation and Experience

Position requires a master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, counseling or psychology. Holds a provisional clinical license, in good standing, within the state of California. Requires minimum of 2 years’ of experience working with clients with a primary mental health diagnosis.

A valid Driver's license and a generally clean driving record are required. Employees may be required to drive personal or company vehicles.

State licensing DHS and DSS prohibit individuals with specific criminal charges, conducted by Livescan fingerprint checks. Exemptions offered.

For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against companies of similar size within the behavioral healthcare industry. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Other Requirements
  • Requires clearance of TB test, criminal background check clearance, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of start date.
