Associate Test & Evaluation Engineer (Environmental Testing)

Boeing Missile and Weapons System division, Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Sustainment Programs is seeking a highly motivated Associate Level Test & Evaluation Engineer to support Dynamic and Environmental Testing and join the Little Mountain Test Facility (LMTF) team in Hill AFB/Ogden, Utah. The LMTF is a remote Government owned facility located in Ogden, UT. The facility is incredibly unique, however there are very limited amenities. Our standard work week is 4 x 10 hour shifts per week, however flexibility is required for this position in order to support operations and testing. Training is provided as often as possible; however, this position will require someone who is proactive and willing to learn the unique execution of the site, operations, and various test contracts, continuously seeking solutions to a variety of challenges.

Assist in demonstrating the effectiveness of test methods. Develop simple test procedures, instrumentation, and configuration definition needed to perform the test and minimize risk. The position will directly support the Hill AFB Little Mountain Test Facility (LMTF) Shock & Vibration Labs for testing, operating and maintaining test stand equipment, design test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements, and upgrades of a variety of test stands and methods including hardness status, projection, data acquisition, analysis and performance of hardened components. Identify solutions to basic problems and support the development of processes, methods, and tools. Supports development of test debrief material. Participates in evaluation of test performance data. Reviews test data for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer. Alerts senior engineers of off‑nominal data. Prepares test reports for review. The candidate will also support the development of engineering technical data to document the configuration of test stands, equipment, and interfaces.

Responsibilities
  • General knowledge and proficiency in operation, integration, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automatic test equipment.
  • General knowledge across a wide range of environmental effects and electronic, electrical, software engineering disciplines.
  • Supports development of test debrief material; participates in evaluation of test performance data, collects data and provides recommendations to adjust configuration.
  • Designs component and sub‑assembly level hardware or software as specified by the Statement of Work; uses analytical tools to verify design and assists in coordinating manufacture and assembly of test hardware.
  • Generates simple test plans or aspects of more complex plans; interfaces with internal contacts, decomposes requirements and Statements of Work to formulate basic test approaches; reviews standards and regulations to assess impact on test plan.
  • Develops test procedures, instrumentation and configuration definition needed to perform the test or document the test stand and existing configuration.
  • Prepares test configuration work instructions and detailed change orders; coordinates staging of test hardware.
  • Participates in test readiness reviews, safety reviews and data/control systems checkout to minimize risk.
  • Performs calibrations and system check‑out/validation.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non‑US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Typically 2 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non‑US equivalent qualifications.
  • Ability to obtain DoD security clearance.
  • Radiation environment testing experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • LabVIEW experience.
