Job summary

Norm Ai in New York City is seeking an associate in our Technology Transactions group to handle high‑impact IP and tech deals, including standalone technology transactions and the IP/tech aspects of M&A, Private Equity and ECVC transactions, while using cutting‑edge AI agents.

You will collaborate with partners, clients and technology teams to reimagine and transform the deal process, using AI to streamline drafting, diligence and execution.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent; admitted in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 4+ years of law firm experience in Technology Transactions and/or IP Transactions.
• Hands-on drafting and negotiating technology and IP agreements at volume.
• Experience supporting the IP/Tech workstreams of M&A and private equity.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical skills; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Draft & review technology and IP documents with AI agents.
• Conduct rapid due diligence and prepare diligence memos focused on IP and tech.

This Role

As an associate in our Technology Transactions group, you will work on high‑impact IP and tech‑focused deals – including standalone technology transactions and the IP/tech aspects of M&A, Private Equity and ECVC transactions – while using cutting‑edge AI agents to streamline the drafting, diligence and execution processes. You will collaborate closely with partners, clients and technology teams to help Norm reimagine and transform the way lawyers work and provide legal services to the world’s leading institutions.

What You’ll Do

• Document Drafting & Review: Leverage AI agents to generate, compare, and revise technology and IP transaction documents.

• Due Diligence: Use AI tools to conduct rapid document reviews, identify key terms in documents, and generate client‑facing diligence memos focused on IP and tech diligence.

• Deal Execution: Integrate AI agents into workflow management, signing and closing checklists, and coordination with counterparties.

• Client Advisory: Partner with clients to demonstrate how AI‑assisted workflows improve accuracy, transparency, and deal velocity.

• Collaboration with Tech: Work closely with the technology teams to continue to make the deal process even more efficient using AI.

What We’re Looking For

Core Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD), or equivalent; admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

• 4+ years of law firm experience in Technology Transactions and/or IP Transactions, as your primary practice.

• Substantive hands‑on record drafting and negotiating technology and IP agreements, with the depth that comes from doing this work at volume.

• Experience supporting the IP and Tech workstreams of M&A and private equity transactions.

• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills; meticulous attention to detail; and the ability to move matters forward.

• No prior AI experience required.

What Success Looks Like

• 30 Days: Learn the firm's AI platforms, take an active role advising clients on matters and workflows.

• 60 Days: Independently use AI agents to support your practice, including to review and generate transaction documentation and negotiations.

• 90 Days: Lead AI‑augmented workstreams in live transactions, applying concentrated, focused legal judgment and skills using Norm Ai technology to capture and enhance quality, speed, and client service.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary: $270,000 to $410,000 per year

The range displayed in this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
