• CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA preferred.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting and ASC 740 concepts required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provision, including data collection and workpapers.
• Prepares income tax disclosures for external financial reporting (10-Q/10-K) including tax rate reconciliations and deferred tax schedules.
• Supports global effective tax rate forecasting and modeling with data inputs and updated schedules.
• Prepares reconciliations of current and deferred tax balances and assists with return-to-provision adjustments.
• Maintains data within the tax provision software (e.g., OneSource Tax Provision).
• Tracks non-U.S. income tax return deadlines and maintains the global compliance calendar.
• Supports Pillar Two / GloBE data gathering with local finance teams and advisors.
• Assists with responses to tax authority inquiries and audit requests with documentation and schedules.
• Participates in cross-functional Tax, Accounting, Treasury, and Finance projects as needed.
• Identifies opportunities to streamline recurring workpapers and data collection.

The Associate Tax Analyst supports Fortune Brands Innovations’ global income tax provision, forecasting, and non-U.S. income tax compliance processes. This position provides the opportunity to gain experience in ASC 740 income tax accounting, public company reporting, global tax operations, and cross-functional finance initiatives while working with business partners and advisors across multiple jurisdictions.

Position location: Deerfield, IL - Hybrid (Flexibility to work from home Mondays and Fridays)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

What you will be doing

• Assists in the preparation of the quarterly and annual global income tax provision under ASC 740, including analysis, data collection, and preparation of supporting workpapers.
• Assists with the preparation of income tax disclosures for external financial reporting (10-Q/10-K), including gathering supporting data for the tax rate reconciliation, deferred tax, and other required footnote schedules.
• Supports the global effective tax rate forecasting and modeling process, including compiling data inputs and updating schedules.
• Prepares account reconciliations of current and deferred tax balances and assists with return-to-provision adjustments.
• Helps maintain data within the tax provision software (e.g., OneSource Tax Provision).
• Assists in tracking non-U.S. income tax return filing deadlines and maintaining the global compliance calendar.
• Prepares and organizes information to support non-U.S. income tax compliance and global tax compliance requirements, including Pillar Two / GloBE data gathering, by coordinating data requests with local finance teams and external advisors.
• Supports responses to tax authority inquiries and internal/external audit requests by compiling documentation and supporting schedules.
• Assists with special and cross-functional projects across the Tax, Accounting, Treasury, and Finance functions as needed.
• Supports process improvement and automation initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline recurring workpapers and data collection.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 0-2 years of relevant tax, accounting, or finance experience preferred. Public accounting, corporate tax, or relevant internship experience is a plus.
• CPA eligibility or progress toward CPA preferred.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting and tax concepts; coursework or exposure to ASC 740 preferred.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong Excel skills required; experience with tax provision/ERP systems (e.g., OneSource & Oracle) a plus.

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $45,000 USD - $77,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
