Job summary

AutoZone, Inc. is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer focused on manual testing with growth toward automation. You will craft test scripts, analyze testing assets, and build a robust testing framework for in-sprint functional, non-functional, regression, and deployment testing.

You’ll start with manual testing, gradually developing automation skills, collaborating with engineers and product teams to ensure high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science or related field.
• 2–4 years of testing experience in functional and automation testing.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Selenium WebDriver, Git, and RestAssured.
• QT automation using Squish is a plus.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, SQL, and Unix.
• Experience in test data management and related tools.
• Experience in web service testing and automation.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Exposure to Agile methodology.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, BAs, PMs, and team members to understand requirements and develop test strategies.
• Develop test plans, strategies, test case creation, execution, and AI-assisted optimization.
• Write, review, and maintain test automation scripts.
• Perform end-to-end functional and integration testing of applications.
• Participate in review and approval of project deliverables.
• Advise teams on testing approaches and tool sets.
• Assist teams in identifying needs and setting up test environments.
• Oversee test result tracking and defect reporting.
• Find, track, and prioritize defects and drive resolution.
• Define QA metrics like defect density and open defects.
• Participate in testing production bug fixes and release validation.

Job Description

The Associate Systems Engineer will be responsible for creating, executing & continuously enhancing manual test scripts within a highly robust, maintainable, and efficient testing framework.

You will be able to analyze the application and testing assets to create robust and effective tests for in-sprint functional, non-functional, regression and deployment testing.

The Testing Specialist will primarily employ manual test strategies but will be expected to begin building a skillset geared towards automation development and execution.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, business analysts, product owners, and other team members to understand the requirements and develop test strategies.
• Develop test plans, strategies, test case creation, test case execution & leveraging AI tools for test case generation and optimization
• Write, review, and maintain test automation scripts
• Perform business applications functional system, integration (end-to-end) tests for new and existing applications
• Participate in the review and approval process of project deliverables
• Advise project teams on appropriate approaches to testing delivered products, including test tool sets
• Assist project teams in identifying the needs and coordinating the establishment of appropriate test environments
• Oversee processes for identifying, tracking, and reporting the results of test procedures
• Find, track, and prioritize defects and work toward their resolution
• Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts
• Participate in the testing of production emergency bug fixes
• Participate in release production validation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
• 2 to 4 Years of Testing experience in functional and automation testing
• Hands-on experience on Jira, Selenium web driver, git, and RestAssured tools/software
• QT automation using Squish will be added advantage
• Java, Python, SQL query, Unix
• Experience in test data management and exposure to test data management tools.
• Experience in web service testing and automation.
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Strong analytical skills
• Exposure to Agile methodology
