Job summary

BDO USA is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to ensure availability, security, and performance of our enterprise infrastructure. The role handles installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and foundational virtualization technologies.

The engineer will assist with upgrades, troubleshoot disruptions, and maintain comprehensive tech docs to support operational continuity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
• 1+ years of experience managing multiple systems, required.
• Experience with HP ProLiant servers, HP Blade chassis, Cisco UCS Servers preferred.
• Microsoft MCSA/MCSE certification preferred.
• Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) preferred.
• Windows Server 2022/2025 and Windows 11 experience required.
• VMware ESX v8 and Red Hat Linux v8+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and maintains servers and storage.
• Analyses and troubleshoots system issues.
• Assists with server replacements and builds.
• Monitors and maintains Active Directory.
• Supports PMO as a technical resource.
• Completes and upgrades system documentation.
• Remote administration and troubleshooting; deploys Microsoft solutions.
• Triage and resolves escalations within SLAs.
• Identifies solutions for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Uses remote tools to resolve requests.
• Communicates professionally with clients and project leads.
• Performs other duties as required.

Job Duties

• Monitors and maintains servers and possibly storage systems
• Analyzes and troubleshoots system issues
• Assists with the performance and coordination server replacements and server builds
• Monitors, manages and maintains Active Directory
• Acts as a technical resource for the Project Management Office
• Completes and upgrades system documentation
• Responsible for remote administration, design and implement of troubleshooting issues, and update/deploy Microsoftsolutions
• Triage and resolve escalations from the team within defined customer SLAs
• Be a problem solver - Identify solutions for hardware, software, and network issues
• Leverage remote support tools to resolve support requests
• Communicate with clients and project leads in a highly professional and timely manner
• Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High School Diploma/GED, required
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, preferred

Experience

• One (1) or more years of experience managing multiple systems, required
• Ability to update and manage technical Tier 1, 2 and 3 escalation issues and identify solutions in fast-paced environment, required
• Prior experience with HP ProLiant servers, HP Blade chassis, Cisco UCS Servers, preferred

License/Certifications

• Microsoft MCSA / MCSE certification, preferred
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), preferred

Software

• Prior experience managing and maintaining Microsoft Windows Servers 2022/2025; Windows 11, required
• Prior experience or knowledge of VMWare ESX v8, preferred
• Prior experience with RedHat Linux v8 or newer, preferred

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $100,000 - $120,000

Maryland Range: $100,000 - $120,000

NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $100,000 - $120,000
