Job summary

Shield AI is seeking an Associate Systems Administrator to deliver day-to-day IT support, systems administration, and asset lifecycle tasks across our enterprise environment. The role emphasizes executive support, security, and reliable computing in a fast-paced, multi-location organization.

You will manage endpoints across Windows, macOS, and Linux, handle AD/Azure AD, device provisioning, and incident response, with opportunities to collaborate with IT security, networking, and cloud tooling.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in enterprise desktop support or junior systems administration.
  • Experience supporting Windows and macOS; exposure to Linux is a plus.
  • Basic experience administering Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), or similar identity platforms.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN connectivity.
  • Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune, JAMF, or similar.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service while supporting employees across multiple locations.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for endpoint and user systems across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment for end users.
  • Support conference room, collaboration, and meeting technology for executive meetings and high-visibility events.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls through AD and Azure AD.
  • Support endpoint management and security controls to maintain a secure computing environment.
  • Perform local IT asset lifecycle activities including provisioning, deployment, inventory tracking, and decommissioning.
  • Maintain accurate asset and software licensing records using ITSM and asset tools.
  • Respond to service requests and incidents; escalate complex issues per process.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base content.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams for coordinated resolution.
  • Participate in planned maintenance and occasional after-hours or on-call responsibilities.

Job Description:

The Associate Systems Administrator provides day-to-day enterprise end-user IT support, systems administration, infrastructure maintenance, and asset lifecycle support. This role is responsible for helping maintain a secure, reliable, and efficient IT environment by delivering white-glove technical support to employees, with particular focus on executive users, executive assistants, board-facing support needs, and visiting leaders. The ideal candidate combines solid technical troubleshooting skills, sound judgment within established processes, and a customer-focused approach, and operates effectively in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

What you’ll do:
  • Deliver excellent customer service while supporting employees across multiple locations.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for endpoint and user systems across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.

  • Support endpoint management and security controls to maintain a secure and compliant computing environment.
  • Perform local IT asset lifecycle activities, including device provisioning, deployment, inventory tracking, maintenance, refresh coordination, and secure decommissioning.
  • Maintain accurate asset records and software licensing information using IT service management and asset management tools.
  • Respond to and resolve service requests and technical incidents in a timely manner, escalating more complex issues through established support paths.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base content.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams to support enterprise IT operations and coordinated issue resolution.
  • Participate in planned maintenance activities and support occasional after-hours or on-call responsibilities as required.
Required qualifications:

  • Familiarity with IT asset management platforms such as Snipe-IT.
  • Basic scripting experience with PowerShell or Bash.
  • Exposure to virtualization, Microsoft 365 administration, or cloud technologies.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or other relevant certifications.

$70,000 - $105,000 a year

Full-time regular employee offer package:

Pay within range listed + Bonus + Benefits + Equity

Temporary employee offer package:

Pay within range listed above + temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment)

Salary compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
