Job summary

Amgen in the United States seeks an Associate System Administrator to join the Operations Technology team at our Final Product facility. This onsite role supports laboratory, benchtop, and manufacturing systems, focusing on application support, deployment, and day‑to‑day operations.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and strong Windows administration, GMP data integrity, and cross‑functional collaboration across manufacturing, quality, and process development teams.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Administration and system settings.
  • Quality Records experience and Data Integrity in GMP environments.
  • Ability to analyze problems and propose data-driven solutions.
  • Engagement with business users to capture requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Administration, such as configuring system settings, managing user accounts, ensuring system security, and troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Experience with analytical instruments, configuration, system management and integration with Laboratory Platforms.
  • Quality Records experience, Data Integrity and GMP environments experience.
  • Actively engage with business users to analyze business needs, capture, and detail business and solution requirements guided by standard methodologies in core application platforms.
  • Participate in technical root cause analysis, incident investigations, business case development and troubleshooting on computerized systems.

Associate System Administrator
What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role, you will be part of Amgen's newest and most sophisticated final product assembly and packaging plant. The Final Product facility will feature best-in-class device assembly and packaging technologies with embedded Industry 4.0 capabilities, while integrating sustainability innovations to reduce carbon and waste as part of Amgen’s plan to become a carbon‑neutral company by 2027.

As an Entry Level Lab Associate System Administrator, you will work within Operations Technology team will support Operations at Amgen Ohio with a focus on Laboratory, Benchtop, and manufacturing capabilities. The main responsibility of the role is to support applications, design, solution deployment, and provide day‑to‑day support for Quality, Manufacturing, and Process Development, and the broader Digital Technology and Innovation teams while adhering to Amgen standards, policies, and procedures.This is an onsite role.

Responsibilities:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Administration, such as configuring system settings, managing user accounts, ensuring system security, and troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Experience with analytical instruments, configuration, system management and integration with Laboratory Platforms.
  • Quality Records experience, Data Integrity and GMP environments experience.
  • Actively engage with business users to analyze business needs, capture, and detail business and solution requirements guided by standard methodologies in core application platforms.
  • Participate in technical root cause analysis, incident investigations, business case development and troubleshooting on computerized systems.
  • Perform assignments that have clear and specific objectives and require investigation of limited number of variables.
  • Initiate and complete routine technical tasks.
  • Coordination of business process and system issues across multiple departments, functions, and other Amgen manufacturing sites.
  • Participate in technical root cause analysis, incident investigations, business case development and troubleshooting on computerized systems.
  • Analyze problems, develop, and propose technical solutions in a scientific manner using data-driven techniques and analyses.
  • Support non-standard shift organization and extended hours, as per business needs.
  • Leverage AI and data science to enhance ways of working and drive outcomes.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • OR
  • Associate’s degree and 4 years of Information Systems, Business Analysis, or related experience
  • OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Information Systems, Business Analysis, or related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A general to good understanding of Quality processes, Laboratory, benchtop, and manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to analyze problems, process complex data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • General knowledge of IT architecture and hardware.
  • General understanding of project management, customer service, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • Strong computer skills and possess the ability to apply science-based thinking to practical applications.
  • Energetic and technically minded individuals.
  • Proven excellence in verbal and written communication at all interpersonal levels.
  • Familiar with ALCOA++ Principles.
  • AI, Data engineering capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration and shared success.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
