Job summary

Ascension Publishing Group in Exton, PA is seeking an Associate Supply Chain Manager to support daily operations including order processing, inventory control, supplier coordination, and logistics to ensure efficient, cost-effective product flow from sourcing to delivery. You will analyze data, forecast needs, collaborate with Product Teams, and work with warehouse partners.

  • Demand Planning and Forecasting: Interpret datasets to forecast demands and advise product teams.
  • Communication Management: Share inventory updates and risks with relevant departments weekly.
  • Warehouse and Fulfillment: Coordinate with warehouse partners and monitor transactions and discrepancies.

Job description

SUMMARY

An Associate Supply Chain Manager supports and executes supply chain strategies, in alignment with our company's mission and goals, focusing on daily operations like order processing, inventory management, supplier coordination, and logistics to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely product flow from sourcing to delivery, collaborating across departments and managing key metrics. Effective cross-business communication and execution are key to success.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Inventory Analysis and Management: Monitors, analyzes, controls, manages, and maintains inventory levels. Manages inventory levels, initiates cost reductions, order and reprint strategies, and assesses sales history alongside the Product Teams. Identify best practice benchmarks and drive improvements in both efficiency and cost savings. Report weekly and monthly with KPIs, inefficiencies, managing risks, and ensuring compliance.
  • Procurement & Supplier Relationship Management: Research and select new suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality materials are acquired efficiently. Manage current vendor relationships to ensure strong partnerships while managing performance. Discuss product specifications along with vendor requirements with the Print Production Coordinator.
  • Demand Planning and Forecasting: Interpret datasets to uncover trends, forecast demands, and make informed decisions. Analyze historical sales data and provide recommendations to Product Teams on optimal print quantities. Review upcoming campaigns with the Product Teams to predict inventory needs for projected sales, particularly for seasonal products.
  • Communication Management: Identifies high-volume/large-quantity sales orders that impact inventory levels and shares information with the Customer Support team. Shares low/out-of-stock item information back to product teams, business operations, customer support, and other relevant departments with weekly reports.
  • Warehouse and Fulfillment: Works as a liaison between Ascension and our warehouse/fulfillment partners for any inventory-related questions, assessing and monitoring all warehouse transactions, and handling discrepancies; tracks movement of inventory by monitoring purchase order (PO) transactions and ASN receipts from the vendor, both in the ERP system and at our warehouse, matching the invoice to the transactional records.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory management or related fields
  • Strong computer skills; familiarity with systems such as ERP, E-Commerce, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs, specifically Excel and/or Google Sheets.

  • Excellent data analysis/math/accounting skills.
  • Exceptional collaboration, organization, and time-management skills.
