Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer for our North Providence, RI office. You will support the Buildings Team, conducting basic analysis, drafting reports, and assisting with design and construction of building and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include data collection, site inspections, and collaboration with engineers, project managers, and authorities to ensure safety, compliance, and quality. Strong technical writing and software skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles and design/build processes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
• Proficiency in structural software and codes; ability to produce technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection and analysis from sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and other records.
• Perform basic structural engineering tasks related to site conditions, resources, and design conformance.
• Develop technologies, models, and design requirements for safe, functional structures.
• Verify site characteristics and provide technical support for structural soundness under loads.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation with sketches, calculations, and 2D/3D drawings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist project managers on plans and timelines.
