Xometry seeks an early-career engineer for the Associate Solutions Engineer role. This position connects sales, operations, partners, and customers to deliver practical manufacturing solutions with strong technical empathy.

You will support quoting, BOMs, RFQs, cost modeling, supplier coordination, and cross-functional collaboration across the solution lifecycle. Hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or related technical field.
  • Experience in CNC Machining, Additive Manufacturing, Wire harness Assembly, Sheet Metal and Welding.
  • Approximately 3–5 years of engineering/manufacturing experience (internships or co-ops acceptable).
  • Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Experience interpreting Manufacturing Drawings and GD&T.
  • Strong data management skills (Excel/Sheets/ERP/CRM).
  • Effective communicator and team collaborator bridging engineering and business.
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage assignments with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Support quoting, data organization, and creation of technical documentation (BOMs, RFQs, specs reviews).
  • Assist with internal cost-modeling and quoting-tool development to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate supplier communication, tracking of quality documents, and lifecycle from award to delivery.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to understand the full solution lifecycle.
  • Lead a capstone project to improve process efficiency (e.g., automate quoting or dashboards).
  • Develop and demonstrate DFx best practices for manufacturing disciplines.

Xometry is seeking an early-career engineer for a critical role. The Associate Solutions Engineer serves as a foundational resource to our internal teams and external customers, leveraging technical empathy to support the delivery of relevant manufacturing solutions. This role is part of the Solutions Engineering organization and links sales, operations, partners and customers to improve a wide variety of outcomes.

How You'll Contribute:
  • Technical Support & Documentation: Support quoting, data organization, and creation of technical documentation for complex customer programs, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), Request for Quotes (RFQs), and specification reviews
  • Internal Solution Development: Assist with internal cost-modeling and quoting-tool development to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Supplier and Quality Coordination: Assist with supplier communication, tracking of quality documents, and other aspects of the solution lifecycle from award through delivery
  • Cross-Functional Learning & Collaboration: Participate in cross-functional meetings to gain a comprehensive understanding of the full solution lifecycle, bridging the gap between engineering, sales, and operations
  • Process Improvement Initiative: Lead a capstone mini-project aimed at enhancing process efficiency, such as automating a quoting workflow, developing a reporting dashboard, or streamlining a documentation process
  • DFx Fundamentals: Develop and demonstrate best practices in a variety of manufacturing disciplines relevant to our customers and partners.
What You'll Bring to Xometry:
  • Education: Required – Completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Technical Foundation: Demonstrated foundational expertise and knowledge in key manufacturing principles, including familiarity with CNC Machining, Additive Manufacturing, Wire harness Assembly, Sheet Metal and Welding
  • Engineering Experience: Approximately 3-5 years of experience in an engineering/manufacturing role (including internships or co-ops). An optimal candidate will have experience as a Xometry A&D customer or supporting Xometry A&D customers
  • Design Tools: Demonstrated experience in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Technical Drawing Proficiency: Demonstrated experience or coursework in interpreting Manufacturing Drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Data Management: Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail in managing multi-line data (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, or ERP/CRM systems)
  • Communication: Effective communicator and team collaborator with a strong interest in bridging engineering and business. Comfortable in technical discussions and presenting information to small groups
  • Drive: Driven and self-motivated with the ability to manage assignments with minimal oversight and a desire to learn the custom manufacturing industry
