Job summary

VT Group (VTG) is seeking an early-career Associate Software Engineer to support the SCIPR application. The role is based in Orlando, FL (preferred) or the DC Metro Area, and involves building features across the full stack with React and Python, integrating diverse data sources, and contributing to mission analytics for DoD stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have 1–5 years of experience, a Bachelor's in CS/SE, and familiarity with GitLab, Jira, and Agile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 1–5 years of relevant experience (internships, academic projects, or early professional experience may be considered).
• Proficiency in Python for backend development; experience building front-end apps using React.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack features for the SCIPR web application.
• Build and enhance front-end components using React to deliver data-rich UX.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Python.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data sources to support analytics.
• Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum team using Jira for backlog management.
• Maintain code quality, version control, and CI/CD with GitLab.
